Affordable web design for local businesses — no tricks
"Affordable" should mean a fair, clear price — not a website you'll have to redo in six months.
What a local business website really costs
A custom, professional website for a local business costs, with me, from $750 (Basic package, up to 6 pages). If you need bilingual, online booking, and full SEO, Professional is $1,950. And Premium with an AI assistant is $3,950. Those are the complete prices — no asterisked «from».
Payment is simple too: 50% to start and 50% when your site goes live, by Zelle or card.
The costs that come after (stated up front)
Many «cheap» websites hide the ongoing costs. Here are mine, in writing: the domain renews at about $11–15 a year paid directly to the registrar, and it's registered in your name. Hosting is included in the care plan (from $79/mo), which also covers small changes, security, backups, and monitoring — no long contracts. Without a plan, changes are billed hourly, priced before any work starts.
Warning signs of a «too cheap» website
- An eternal monthly fee for a site that never becomes yours.
- The domain registered in the agency's name, not the business's.
- A generic template passed off as «custom design».
- No real person to contact when something breaks.
- A starting price that excludes the basics: no SSL, no SEO, no decent mobile version.
With AG Web Designs, every project includes custom design, a careful mobile version, SSL, basic SEO, and your domain in your name — starting with the Basic package. That's what «affordable» should mean.
